Second House

The Second House is commonly referred to as the House of Possessions. While this speaks to that which you own, it’s not limited simply to tangible things. You own your feelings and emotions, as well as your inner self, abilities, needs, and wants. When you own up to something, you are actually claiming ownership of your greatest possession, your own self.

Your possessions should enhance your life and those of others, and foster a general sense of well-being. This brings forth the concept of value, which is key to the Second House. What do you value, both tangibly and intangibly? Why do you value it? Who do you value it? What do you really own? What do you want to own?

Specific possessions covered by the Second House include earned income and your ability to influence it, investments, and moveable property (cars, clothing, jewellery, etc.). Debt is also part of the equation here since you own the responsibility to pay your bills. In brief, it includes all financial matters but also represents greed and all sorts of possessions.

The Second House is ruled by the sign Taurus and the planet.
